N-propanol, also known as 1-propyl alcohol or propanol. The molecular formula is CH3CH2CH2OH (C3H7OH), with a molecular weight of 60.10. A colorless transparent liquid with an ethanol like odor, soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. Propionaldehyde is synthesized from ethylene through carbonylation, and then reduced to obtain it. Mainly used as a solvent, such as in large quantities for ink, it can also replace ethanol with lower boiling point as a solvent, and has a special role in the solvent of polyamide ink for printing and dyeing plastic films. It is also used for color analysis. As an intermediate, it is mainly used to produce n-propylamine, propyl ester, propionamide, etc.

First aid measures

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly rinse the skin with soap and water.

Eye contact: Lift the eyelids and rinse with flowing water or saline solution. Seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene and move to a place with fresh air. Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing stops, immediately perform artificial respiration. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: Drink plenty of warm water and induce vomiting. Gastric lavage. Seek medical attention.

Storage precautions

Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sources of fire and heat. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 ℃. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, halogens, and edible chemicals, and avoid mixing storage. Adopt explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to generating sparks. The storage area should be equipped with emergency response equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials.
