Ethyl acetate, a compound with the chemical formula C4H8O2 and a molecular weight of 88.11. Also known as ethyl acetate, it is an ester with a functional group - COOR (a double bond between carbon and oxygen) that can undergo common ester reactions such as alcoholysis, ammonolysis, ester exchange, and reduction. Low toxicity, sweet taste, irritating odor at high concentrations, volatile, excellent solubility, fast drying, widely used, it is an important organic chemical raw material and industrial solvent. Belonging to Class I flammable materials, it should be stored in a low temperature and well ventilated area, away from sources of fire. The laboratory generally produces it through the esterification reaction of acetic acid and ethanol.

Storage and transportation

1. This product is classified as a Class I flammable material and should be stored in a low temperature and well ventilated area, away from sources of ignition.

2. Take measures to prevent static electricity from occurring. During loading and unloading, handle with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers, and to prevent static electricity accumulation.

3. The product should be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, with a temperature not exceeding 30 ℃, to prevent direct sunlight exposure, and to keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids and bases, and the storage area should be equipped with emergency equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to generating sparks.  

4. The workplace should maintain ventilation and air permeability, and operators should wear protective equipment.
