2,2,4-trimethylpentane, commonly known as iso octane (those with one methyl group at the 2-position of the main chain are called "iso", and those with two methyl groups at the 2-position are called "new". However, due to habit, 2,2,4-trimethylpentane is still referred to as "iso octane"), is an isomer of octane.

First aid measures

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly rinse the skin with soap and water.

Storage precautions

Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sources of fire and heat. The storage temperature should not exceed 37 ℃, and the container should be kept sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants and avoid mixing storage. Adopt explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to generating sparks. The storage area should be equipped with emergency response equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials.
