Organic synthetic raw materials are mainly used to produce fluorocarbons (F-21, F-22, F-23), dyes, and drugs. In medicine, they are commonly used as anesthetics. Can be used as a solvent and extractant for antibiotics, fragrances, oils, resins, and rubber. Mixing with carbon tetrachloride can produce a non freezing fire-resistant liquid. It is also used as a propellant for smoke agents, a fumigant for grains, and a standard solution for temperature calibration. Industrial products usually contain a small amount of ethanol, which reacts with the generated phosgene to produce non-toxic diethyl carbonate. Before using industrial products, a small amount of concentrated sulfuric acid can be added and shaken before washing with water. After drying with calcium chloride or potassium carbonate, chloroform without ethanol can be obtained.
